Mr. Brett Lavender (Vice Chair)

Brett Lavender is a Griffin native, Mr. Lavender was appointed to the Griffin-Spalding County Airport Authority in May of 2012. Brett previously served, for over 15 years, as a member the Griffin-Spalding Airport Advisory Board.
Mr. Lavender is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certificated Private Pilot with an Instrument rating. He is a United States Air Force veteran and was assigned to the 4th Tactical Fighter Wing where he supported the 334th TFS “Eagles” and the 337th TFS “Falcons”. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Mercer University’s Stetson School of Business and Economics. He has also completed the Local Government Chief Information Officer (LGCIO) program with The University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government (CVIOG).  Brett has worked in national security and local government for the past 34 years provisioning and supporting communications, navigation, telecommunications, geographic and information system technologies. Currently, he works as the Director of Information Technology for the Clayton County Board of Commissioners.
