Mr. Louis C. Thacker

Louis Thacker began his aviation career as a flight instructor and crop duster while attending Louisiana State University. He has a Business Degree from Louisiana State University.  After graduation he became a pilot with Eastern Airlines. He flew with Eastern for 25 years until they ceased operations in 1991. During those years he obtained his (A&P) Aircraft and Power Plant Mechanics License and his (IA) Inspector Authorization. He owned and operated an airfield and crop dusting business in Pike County. After Eastern Airlines he obtained a pilot position with various night freight operators flying the Boeing 727. As a freighter pilot he transported race horses throughout the United States. He has owned and operated various general aviation aircraft at the Griffin Airport.  He was manager of the Griffin-Spalding Airport for a period of time. While flying for Eastern Airlines he also attended Woodrow College of Law and obtained a Juris Doctor of Law degree and practiced law from 1977. He served on the Airport Advisory Board for many years and now serves on the Airport Authority. He is retired from the practice of law and resides in Griffin, GA. He is married, has 4 children and 9 grandchildren.
